Mike Field Charpentier Traditionnelle/ Timber Framer

Je suis un charpente et menuisier dans le commune de Mellionnec, Centre Bretagne, avec un qualification anglais de City & Guilds. Je suis passionné par le bois, le nature et l’environment et j’était vite désabusé par les méthodes de charpente modernes, donc j’ai pris le chemin vers le monde de charpente traditionnelle. Après avoir assisté à des ateliers intensifs avec Steve Chappell de la Foxmaple School of Timber framing dans le Maine, Etats-Unis, j’était accroché, et depuis, j’ai acquis une réputation pour le travail de qualité charpente traditionnelle et menuiseries, faits à la main, et sur mesure.

Je me spécialise dans:

• la conception, la construction et la mise en place de bâtiments et d’extensions traditionnels à ossature de bois sur mesure
• rénovation traditionnelle de charpente de toits, Hipped roofs et chien assis
  escaliers sur mesure
• stage de Charpente Traditionnelle

I am a city and guilds qualified and time served carpenter/joiner based in Mellionnec, in the heart of central Brittany, France.  I have always had a passion for wood, nature and the environment and quickly became disillusioned with modern carpentry methods and materials which laid my path into the world of timber framing. After attending intensive workshops with Steve Chappell from the Foxmaple School of Timberframing in Maine, USA I was hooked, and since then have gained a reputation for quality, hand crafted frames and other joinery.

I specialise in:

• the design, construction and raising of traditional bespoke timber framed buildings and extensions
• traditional roof renovation, hipped roofs and roof dormas
• bespoke made to measure staircases
