Spring seems to have well and truly sprung here in Brittany….which means summer is just around and so is this summers Timber Framing Workshop.
This years course is a sponsored build on a farm in Mellionnec, Central Brittany. The owners Fabrice and Laetitia Monthuley run an organic beef herd and poultry farm and sell their produce direct from the farm, or via local organic shops. They have 3 children, Emma, Garice and Charlie.
The trees we are using are from the farm’s copiced woodland and were selected and felled early spring before the sap started rising. Mikee has individually selected each tree for a particular role in the project, and he will be covering tree selection in the course. The next job is to have them milled on site and stored for the workshop in August.
